Finding your mountain
The chalet is an hour’s drive from Geneva Airport, along the A40 (motorway) heading towards Chamonix
and Italy. Exit the A40 at junction 21 for Saint Gervais. Follow the main road through Passy and then start
the climb up to St Gervais town centre. As you come into the central square of the town pass the church
(on your right); follow the one way system round keeping the small Carrefour supermarket on your right.
Start to drive up the mountain on Rue de la Vignette. After several minutes you will cross the track of the
Tramway Mont Blanc (check both ways before crossing!)
Carry on up the mountain road for several more minutes, taking in two tight and steep left hand bends, at
which point you may have to go down to 1st gear; take them wide but keep the revs up. After a couple
more bends you will arrive at a car park plateau with a rough track rising straight ahead of you. This is Les
Toilles. You are nearly home. Do not attempt to drive up this track – you will not make it to the chalet
unless you are in a 4x4, and outside of the winter season. Park and call the concierge or don your rucksack
and get ready for a short hike up the hill.
If you are visiting the chalet during the ski season, the concierge will come down to meet you in the car
park and load your luggage into our specialist tracked vehicle. We are happy for you to ride up with the
concierge, but our insurance doesn't cover transport, so please ensure that your winter sports travel
insurance covers snowmobiles. If you prefer to walk, it is an adventurous 400m scramble up the track from
the car park to the chalet. Lively children will complain then scamper up annoyingly whilst you are puffing
and blowing. The track starts near the wooden trough and letter boxes, follow the sign to Le Chalet F’Net
and La Taniere Restaurant. We are not the chalet you see from the car park but the next one you see set
back from the path. Welcome to our hidden retreat.
